A small pod of orcas paid a visit to Port Alberni’s waterfront on April 18.
People gathered at Harbour Quay and Canal Beach to catch a glimpse of the orcas in the Alberni Inlet. Four dorsal fins were visible from the water, but the whales didn’t stay for long before heading back down the inlet.
It’s not the first time orcas have been spotted in Port Alberni. Just last September, a pod of orcas put on a show for delighted onlookers, breaching the water multiple times.
