The annual Rotary Salmon Derby 50/50 Raffle is back! Tickets went on sale March 1 and are available at our new online portal until Labour Day weekend.
The Rotary Club of Port Alberni has been holding the raffle for decades, to raise money to support youth and families in the community. Over the years thousands of dollars in bursaries have been awarded to aspiring students, and thousands more donated to breakfast clubs, school activities, literacy initiatives, and more.
During the pandemic, the $10,000 raffle became a 50/50 draw and each year, thanks to the generosity of this community, we have sold out and awarded a cash prize of $10,000 or more. The 50/50 draw continues for 2024 but it has moved online for the first time.
Scan the QR code in our ad on the March 27 Giving Back feature page or go online to https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/rcpas to quickly secure your tickets. The price is still the same, $5 a ticket, but online we can sell more than twice as many tickets meaning a much larger prize potential for the winner! And we are selling earlier and longer, so you can keep buying tickets from now until Labour Day. There are 10,000 tickets available and if we sell out, that is potentially a $25,000 prize for the winner!
Just because tickets are being sold online, doesn’t mean you won’t see Rotarians around town or at events selling them, online and assisting those who aren’t digitally savvy.
